It's been a week with ups and downs.  I feel a bit off kilter with things in general and am hoping that domestic harmony is restored this weekend.  We're not planning ANYTHING...that's usually a good start to getting back on track.  Even when feeling like this, I know God is in control.

Don't be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.  Isaiah 41:10

Elise and Dane went on a Father/Daughter date last Saturday evening and they had a sweet time together.

I totally forgot that Sunday was Father's Day until about 10:30 that morning.  Horrible, isn't it?  We did do some fun things that day.  Brunch at Aunt Bek's house,  Elise played in the sprinkler with our neighbors, we had hand-cranked ice cream banana splits with Dane's family.

While Elise was playing in the sprinkler with our neighbors she fell from one of the tree house ladders (maybe it was wet?) and hurt her wrist.  We waited it out over night, but when I went in to check on her the next morning, she was holding her wrist in her sleep and when she woke up she said that it still hurt.  So off to the doctor we went...then to get and x-ray where they confirmed it was broken...then to the orthopedic office to get a cast.  Second broken bone incident in her 2 1/2 year life!  She was happy with the bright green color she picked out and she's throwing around the idea of letting people write their names on her cast.

We harvested honey this week and got 5 1/2 gallons.  I had some parents and kids from the Moms group that I'm a part of come over and did a honey extraction demonstration.  I've said it before and I'll say it again.  Bees are amazing creatures.

And then there's sweet little Justus.  There been a few moments of frustration this week when he's so tired but fighting off sleep with all that he's got.  The baby carrier has been my life saver the past couple of days.  Actually I'm not quite sure why I'm on this computer right now.  I should be trying to sleep some while they are both asleep (hallelujah!).  We're trying out the teething necklace to see if it helps the sleep any.

NC

We had an unexpectedly early visit to NC this summer.  Dane's Great Aunt Christine died just about a month before she turned 96.  We went to her funeral in Winterville, NC which is only 45 minutes away from where Mom and Dad live so we decided to go see them for a few days after the funeral.  We had a good visit making some new memories together.
